Located just off of Dysart and Waddel, UMC Design was founded by twin brothers, Mason and Chris Phillips. UMC Design was a strong force to be reckoned with from the start. With efficient contracting and a professionally trained crew, they were ready to bring game-changing work to the Phoenix Valley.

Wonders of Wood began as a small company that serviced the valley in specialized cabinetry refinishes for over five years. In 2018, the company was acquired by Jeffery Everette, who— with the support of his family— has steadily built their reputation in over 100 homes across the valley. For over seven years, the Wonders of Wood name has been nurtured and grown by Jeffery and his daughters.

Now, in 2025, Wonders of Wood has become a proud part of the UMC Family under the new name, Wonders of Wood AZ.

With Wonders of Wood AZ’s customer-centered approach and UMC’s Design experience and influence, they have decided to join forces and provide the Valley with a combined set of unique skills. Together, UMC Design and Wonders of Wood AZ offer countertops, flooring, tilework, custom cabinetry, and refinishing.
